Start with the side of the flashcards that have images and support your toddler in matching the figurine to the image. Over-time build up to using the blank side of the flashcard and simply state the category while your toddler sorts through the figurines to find the appropriate ones.

An additional great game is the "Bring Me" game - focused on active play. Choose one category of figurines and place them on a table or on the floor in a space far away from you. Ask your toddler to bring you specific items one by one (they should search through the group of figures and select the right one and then run it over to you). For an added challenge, give them a little tray and have them put the item on the tray and walk it over to you (to practice balance).
